You can be confident that you will be adopting a healthy animal. In addition to dogs and cats we frequently have rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, and even horses, goats, turtles. Visit us in Kona, Waimea, or Keaau. |
ORGANIZATIONS | |
North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) | The North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) was formed in 1993 to provide North American dogs and their handlers with a fast, safe and enjoyable form of the sport of dog agility. NADAC sanctions agility trials sponsored by affiliated clubs.
The purpose of a NADAC agility trial is to demonstrate the ability of a dog and its handler to work as a smoothly functioning team. With separate class divisions for Veterans and Junior Handlers and a variety of games, NADAC dog agility offers something for everyone! |
American Kennel Club | The American Kennel Club is dedicated to upholding the integrity of its Registry, promoting the sport of purebred dogs and breeding for type and function. United Kingdom International (UKI) | As a United Kingdom agility organization, what we have to offer is unique! Our aim is to continually strive for the betterment of agility competition and training for all dogs. We also aim to provide trials at which all competitors - whether they are weekend ‘just-wanna-have-fun-with-my-dog’ enthusiasts or die-hard professional agility competitors – are catered for. |
Canine Performance Events (CPE) | Canine Performance Events, Inc. currently offers titling classes in Agility.
CPE's Basic Philosophy is for the dog and handler to have FUN while competing for agility titles. |
TRAINING/INFORMATION | |
Paws University | Paws has been West Hawaii’s premier pet day care, pet boarding and pet training facility since 2002. Our seven-acre campus is designed for dogs to have lots of room to play and interact. We have created an environment where active dogs can play and frolic, while less active dogs, or other pets, have a safe place where they can relax yet still get the exercise they need.
Since opening our facility in 2002, we have had the pleasure of providing our services to thousands of dogs and their human parents. |
Paws Up Hawaii | Offering instruction for all experience levels - continuing classes geared toward competing and/or having fun with your dog.
Puppy classes, foundation classes, games, tricks, relationship building, just to name a few. |
Far Flung Dog Training | With an emphasis on developing a strong working relationship with your dog, and always having fun, Far-Flung Dog Training provides training for anyone interested in agility, from the basics and foundation work to advanced competition. |
Nose For Adventure | With our Base Camp we are able to offer more than just our hikes. Now we can provide Play Care and Boarding! In Play care your dog or pup are allowed to play and socialize with the other dogs. Gentle play is encouraged and over aggressive play is redirected or outright discouraged. They are taught to play nice with dogs of all sizes and energy types. There is nothing better than taking your otherwise rambunctious dog home exhausted and happy, ready to eat dinner and pass out the rest of the night! |
Lava Dogs 808 | The website includes resources such as parks, trails, beaches, veterinarians, overnight boarding, doggie daycare, dog-sitting, training, shelters, lodging, restaurants, stores, traveling with your dog, moving a dog overseas, local and online dog product vendors, dog-related events, laws that regulate dogs in Hawaii, and more! |
Department of Agriculture/Quarantine | Hawaii has strict laws regarding the importation of animals. Some animals that may be allowed as pets in other states or countries may be restricted or prohibited in Hawaii. Importing an illegal animal carries a penalty of up to three years in prison and fines up to $500,000. Please follow all rules and procedures. |
NUTRITION | |
Honest Kitchen | Our goal is to ensure your dog and cat is getting the absolute best pet food possible. This happens through the quality of ingredients we use, our careful process of dehydration and our commitment to product quality. Additionally, we're committed to making our community and planet a better place. All this wrapped up in every Honest Kitchen box! |
Kona Raw Pet Food Co-op | At Kona Raw Pet Food Co-op, we aim to help pet owners learn about raw-meaty-bones (rmb) and enable them to feed an rmb diet to their pets, economically. For a one-time membership fee of $5.00, members can buy the amounts of rmb their pets need for a week or a month at wholesale prices. Feeding rmb is less expensive than feeding so-called "premium" kibble s that are primarily sugary starches. |
